One of the holiest Buddhist sites in Northern Vietnam, hiding among verdant paddy fields, limestone karsts and picturesque villages, the Perfume Pagoda is a highlight in outskirts of Hanoi area and the great place for a day trip. Enjoy the leisurely 2-hour sampan boat row through rice fields and limestone formations. Hike up to the Pagoda of the Heavenly Kitchen and soak up the peaceful surroundings. Detailed itinerary At 08:00 meet your guide and driver for an enjoyable 2-hour drive to Yen Vi village. Enjoy wonderful rice fields and very picturesque landscapes. Arrive at Yen Vi dock, take one hour boat ride along Yen Vi stream while admiring the wonderful limestone karsts that surround the river, watching the local people rowing on their boats. It is an unforgettable experience. Along the way visit the Den Trinh (Temple of Representation) Journey further up the river and reach to the foot of Huong Tich Mountain (Mountain of the Fragrant Traces). Departing the boat, an ancient stone path leads you to Thien Tru Pagoda (Pagoda of the Heavenly Kitchen), built in the late seventeenth century and dedicated to Buddhisattva. It marks the beginning of the journey to Heaven. The hike to Huong Tich Chu (Pagoda of the Perfumed Vestige) takes about two hours round-trip. This journey is both interesting and rewarding. The pagoda is one of the most important religious sites to the Buddhist pilgrims of Vietnam. When you reach the top you will be rewarded with the spectacular view and an appetizing picnic lunch. Climb down the mountain for return boat trip to Yen Vi village. Journey back to Hanoi, arrive hotel at approx 18:30. |
